Why Study in Germany?
Public universities in Germany charge little to no tuition fees โ even for international students. The quality of education is world-class, and graduating opens the door to staying in Germany to work via the 18-month Job Seeker Visa.
The Blocked Account (Sperrkonto)
You must prove you can support yourself financially. Germany requires you to open a blocked account (Sperrkonto) with โฌ11,208 per year (approximately โน10 lakh). The money is released monthly as โฌ934. Banks like Fintiba and Expatrio are popular for this.
Language Requirements
Most programs at public universities are in German, requiring a DSH-2 or TestDaF 4 certificate. However, many master's programs are in English and only require IELTS or TOEFL. Check your specific program's requirements.
Working During Studies
You are allowed to work 120 full days or 240 half days per year alongside your studies. Many students work as Werkstudenten (working students) at German companies โ this is excellent for your career and German language skills.
